Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins

The Library at Mount Charreread.

What a great opening scene. Carolyn is walking down the road in a bloody silk dress, murder knife tucked into the small of her back, and she realizes that -this- driver is real-concerned, not predator-concerned to get her into the car. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?”

This was a very, very weird book. Death is not permanent. Madness comes from terrible treatment, because its the only way to survive. Strong is not the same as good, and weak is not the same as helpless.

Winning isn’t what you thought it would be.
I wonder if Scott Hawkins will ever write another book.
