45 Pounds by K.A. Barson

45 Pounds (More or Less)I don’t usually like books that tell me to lose weight, but this one was interesting.

So many people have so many different attitudes about food and friendship.
And liking yourself is the most important thing, but it’s easier if you don’t have to go to fat-people stores to buy clothes. Or if you have a friend who is very good at altering clothing.

Anne is fat, her mom is super skinny and fat-shames her, one grandma is cool about food but smokes like a chimney, and one grandma uses “oh i don’t like this food, i’m so hungry you have no good food here, oh you made specifically what i asked for but i don’t feel like eating it’ as dominance games with her daughter-in-law.

Some friends are just nasty, some bosses assume the fat girl is stealing food even though personality wise, the other girl is more obvious, and some friends are actually nice.

And food sniping by the big people has a big effect on little kids with big eyes.
