Walking ’round in Winter Wonderland

In Alaska, there are hundreds of words for snow, but only about 50 are appropriate for a family blog.

Walking after a day of snow gives me words like slush, hardpack, drifts, slippery re-frozen melt off, and the terrible shoveled heaps that make it impossible to cross the street.

On the other hand, my heart rate is way up there.
