The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery

The Blue Castle

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you loved Anne of Green Gables….

This book has no children or teens. Valencia is 29 – its her birthday and her family continues to treat her like a doormat. Even her beautiful day-dream is hard to hold on to. Then she runs away from home. It’s a bit late for teen rebellion, but Valencia has decided to make this the year she doesn’t care what people say. It’s very liberating.

Amazing book. Some of the plot twists are telegraphed well in advance, but some are not. I’m just glad that Montgomery’s books are back in print, with all-new covers.
