Twelve Kings in Sharakhai by Bradley P. Beaulieu

Twelve Kings in Sharakhai.jpgA gladiator with a tragic backstory and a need for revenge.
CURVED SWORDS.
Twelve kings with twelve dozen Blade Maidens.
Faux-Arabia, a woman taking advantage of her face-veil, and spicy food.
TWO FULL MOONS MEAN IT’S A KILLING NIGHT.
Drugs that enhance energy but don’t cause addiction. Illegal, though.
SHIPS THAT SAIL OVER THE SAND.
The pictures starting each chapter that let you know which character is narrating.

I should have loved this book. Couldn’t finish it.
The revenge plot was too dragged out too far.
The back-story dragged.
The alternating viewpoints dragged.
I got bored.
